When you consider that most scumbag criminals are cowards and run as soon as they see people have a way to neutralize their threat of violence, it is easy to believe those numbers. The FBI say it is around 700,000 a year that a law abiding citizens uses a firearm to keep from becoming a victim of a violent crime. When you consider that the FBI doesn't hear about all the times a citizen scares the crap out a scumbag criminal with a firearm of their own, and the scumbag criminal runs off peeing his pants, there is really no need to report that and get bogged down in law enforcement paper work.

According to the FBI, there are fewer than 80,000 violent crimes year in our largest 269 cities

Including people who WERE a threat, people are shot less than once per MILLION firearm discharges.

That figure did NOT come from Mother Jones. It was made up in its entirety by the National Rifle Association. And it's pure, unadulterated bullshlt!

Also according to MJ there are 7 assaults or murders for each of those. Do gun control supporters really believe that there are 10,500,000 assaults and murders in the US EACH YEAR??

How many times does someone get shot? That is the important number. How many people get shot who were not a threat?
