I've learned it depends of your size and position you play. I weigh 140 6'5 and I have about 6 1/2 ft wing span. Playing basketball is all about taking advantage of what god has given you. I play pos. 1-5 and I use all types of moves I watch a lot of kd and have formed the cross over that is my main move to get to the basket when scoring I use the step back, fade, hook shot and finger role. A lot of people try to push me around in the block becaue I'm light but I use IQ to get around that. Pump fakes, jab steps, body movements (my favorite being the shoulder fake). A god way to start if you aren't in post is the triple threat that can get you set up to shoot, dribble, and pass.

Take what the defense gives you.

If the defense isn't giving you space, just drive.

If you purposely want to create space you can copy Iverson's game. Move forward dribbling though your leg (long step) making opponent think your about to drive forward, and then quickly step back and shoot. You can also cross them over and get a shot off, as well as fad away and various unorthodox off balanced shots.

Utilize the triple threat. Jab steps and pump fakes. Even pass fakes especially vs a team or player that likes to jump the passing lanes or play zone

Instead of the basic crossover I like to protect the ball with my body by going behind my back or between my legs or even go back to the basket and keep turning shoulders till I get to a closer range or a sweet spot. Use the glass if your friendly with it if not become friendly with it
