Christians, will this selfless prayer be answered by God?

No, and for several reasons. God only hear prayers from His children. Even you are His child, there are other issues. The prayer is human centered, not God centered. Even you start good, you end up like most people. Prayer is aligning our will with God`s will, not to get "stuff" done for us. To live like a Christian is to suffer like Christ, not to fulfill what we see as our needs. Just check out Paul`s life.

Through suffering, with a godly attitude, we learn obedience and a holy lifestyle. Pray for testing, only then we see if we truly are in The Faith. Romans 5

3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

It will be answered, probably with, "No." We will have disease like cancer until Christ returns. I did hear a good statement for rebuttal of those who go the prayer only route to healing. It said to think about all the centuries of prayers for the curing of diseases. Now, isn't it possible that modern medicine is an answer to those millions and millions of prayers?

It was a pretty good point, especially coming from a show that is not usually that positive about religious themes. So while you may be praying for a miraculous healing, it could be that God will give the inspiration to discover the cure to a sceintist.

It is undeniable that God sometimes intentionally allows, or even causes sickness to accomplish His sovereign purposes. While sickness is not directly addressed in the passage, Hebrews 12:5-11 describes God disciplining us to "produce a harvest of righteousness" (verse 11). Sickness can be a means of God's loving discipline. It is difficult for us to comprehend why God would work in this manner. But, believing in the sovereignty of God, there is no other option than suffering being something God allows and/or causes.

NO BECAUSE God was not born just to be named Jesus but there are many others in the Bible who were God in the flesh and many others not in it also. People praying to an old body and putting that above God makes God very angry.

Also if the whole earth stopped their sin then cancer would stop. Until then it will not cease.

all cancers in the world will be healed in the resurrection ! that much will happen! for now all people who take current flu shots have high risks of getting cancer because of the live cancer in them. the same for the gardisal shots. its just not going to happen until WE make it happen, this includes putting people in jail and eating a better diet. with a correct diet there is no need to get cancer from anything. God has alreayd told us to eat a healthy diet, and has warned us in these last days that conspiring men will rise in powere, and true enough they have, so we need to heed the warning He has already given, by obedience, we get the blessing. and in this case the blessing to the word of wisdom is health and fitness.
