If God is omnipotent, can he create a God greater than himself?

If true wouldn't this actually prove either way that he is *Not* a deity having unlimited power; and able to do anything? Something to think about.

Nope. One would have to exist before creating something.

Logical fallacy (on more than one count). This is a bit like the rock so heavy that even god cannot lift it...

If god is all powerfull, then god cannot create a being more powerful than itself. How would the most powerful thing possible being able to create a thing more powerful than itself, as it then wouldn't have been all powerful, or your measurement of all powerful would have been flawed, since everything the new being would be capable of doing the old being would if all powerful also have been capable of doing. If you claim that this proves such a god were not all powerful, then no it doesn't, it just shows that "language" is not a perfect communication means and nothing more.

*Athist who gets riled by stupid proofs! Leave the nonsense to the theists, they've thousands of years more practice trying to make fairy tales coherent (and still failing)!

Only a non believer could come up with such an enormously wasteful concept in thinking. If you consider the question as one of possibility then you HAVE to accept that there IS God. Logically, if you don't accept that something is, then questioning something that isn't is foolish. Maybe you should think about that.

Lets see mathematically, Infinity + 1 = Infinity...Hence we can conclude that its not possible!

    Isopanishad Hymn says:

The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.

No. Omnipotence does not entail the logically impossible.

He should, however, be able to make a being equal in power to himself.

No im maths infinity plus anything is not greater than infinity. IF god exists then it can only create something that is as powerful as itself.

Similar to the rock so big he can't lift it. If he can always lift it, he's not powerful enough to make one he can't. If he can't lift it, he's still not all powerful. This is why the abrahamic god is a lie. He's a paradox, as defined by his followers.

Oh you silly Christian hating atheists! =)

Lets assume God could do such a thing. The question at that point would be... WHY IN THE HELL WOULD GOD WANT TO DO SUCH A STUPID THING LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE!??!

ONLY A STUPID god would make another god more powerful than himself! Since God is not stupid... it would NEVER happen. God would NEVER make another god that could overtake HIM.

    The end.

There are times i would really like to take my brain out and wash it, and my eyes, after reading your question, i have lost valuable grey matter, i want you to weigh your thoughts against something solid. The Word of God, made flesh in Jesus, to make us righteous before the Majesty and on that holy ] ground.

We have a shield of Jesus blood, cleansing our sins before the throne of glory.. Tjrough grace, i didnt ask for it, it was freely given.
