Severe Lower Back Pain, anyone else going through this?
Currently have severe lower back pain. Been refer to physio but on wait list with appointment in October. I have sciatica type pains, with it going down one side, then it changed to other side, then shoot pains down my legs and aching as if I had run for miles and then down to my feet, now its gone to my sciatic nerve underneath my froot as well and feels like got a stone stuck in my foot. At times it cripping with muscle spasms. Had back trouble for years but over time it eased with exercises of which I still do. but it has returned again, and just like when it first happened years ago. I try to live a normal life with the pain but hobbling to a shop which is 5min walk away and stopping in between is no fun. I was told before I have degeneration of the lower spine. Is anyone else going through this right now???

Hi. I have damage to my lower back after injuring my spine in a car accident. I have found that electric heat pads are great to lie on to relax the muscles and I have invested in a good quality TENS machine. I tried a cheap one available from Lloyds chemist and it did nothing. The Boots TENS machine has even managed to numb my lower back while a cocktail of over a dozen prescription meds couldn't manage the pain. Painkillers have limited success in the long run; you may benefit more from a muscle relaxant such as diazepam or baclofen. Best wishes xx

thanks for advice. It started years ago actually in the 1990s, but eased off over the years, after seeing various people. I would get odd back pain here and there. but 2 wk ago it came on again as if when it first began, then and I could not move, I was holding onto wall shaking with pain. hosp gave me painkillers. gp refer me physio. but have to wait nhs till oct for it. now feel like got a stone stuck inside my foot underneath at back part of main foot when I walk, feel like I am walking on hard stones and it hurts.

physiotherapy, like most of medicine, is useless playing with effects. the cause is likely in the upper neck from cord pressure due to a subluxated atlas vertebra. the degenerative effects in the low back seldom are a secondary cause of symptoms. see an hio method chiropractor.
