I'm thinking of upgrading to Yahoo Plus but only if it allows me to get read receipts for email I send out.?
When I do a Google search on this there seems to be some confusion as to whether its possible and if so, under what conditions. Can you provide a definitive answer?

In order for you to receive a read receipt you and the person you sent the email to need to be using an email service that offers the read receipt feature.
Before sending the email make sure you activate this feature.
The person receiving the email will need to click on the "Yes" button when ask if they want to send a read receipt for the email they just opened.
So even if you were using an email service that is offering read receipts that is no guarantee that you will receive read receipts for the emails you send out.
