No, GM re-designed the HVAC box & did away with the cabin air filter for the space it needed. 2002 was the last years that had them

They for sure were in the 1998 through 2002 I am not sure about yours. If your a/c system seems to be blowing low volume I would sure look. I just replaced mine and it makes a world of difference.

Open hood. Look at base of windshield near wipers. Is there a compartment door with a plastic latch?

Supposedly. I saw a video on it once and it's supposed to be somewhere under the dash/glove box. I haven't bothered looking at mine yet. Let me know.
