i do mine ever 3k miles to keep my girl in top shape. warm up car engine a little.jack up front of car ,make sure in the right place or u can puncture things or break wells. un screw the oil screw with a wrench ( usually its a 14 but my mustang is a 16) make sure pan is under car to catch oil . let it fully drain and then bolt it up. then look for the oil filter usually on bottom of block but sometimes on the the side. take it off becarfully there oil in it and put new oil filter on. before u do wipe oil on gasket so it doesnt glue itself to the block lol. then go and add oil . u wanna stay with the right winter and viscocity. ie 5w-30 but can change the winter if u want to 10 or 15 . 0 is for breaking in a new motor. as for viscocity dont chanch that keep it a 30. u have to change oil and filter at same time. if u change oil and not filter then within a couple days ur new oil will be contaminadet.

You use the oil recommended by the manufacturer. Changing oil every 3000miles is throwing money away, modern cars and oils do not need such regular oil changes, you need to get with the times. 6000 is ample most new cars are 10,000 miles or more on long life oils.
