or will showtime press floyd for the pacquiao fight to make room for a possible rematch before floyds contract expires?

I think Amir Khan would be the best option, in terms of What's Best for Floyd. Amir has a good fan base in the UK, which should boost the PPV buys significantly. Plus, he brings a glass jaw to the table, so Floyd may be able to get a KO, which might also be exciting for those who complain that his fights are boring. But I seriously doubt the fight will be held in the UK, as the tax rate there is close to 50%. That would take a huge bite out of Floyd's take home pay.

Last reported, it made 925,000 buys and also made a killing at the live gates. It is still the highest grossing fight of the current year although for the second straight time, a Floyd fight did not hit the million mark as far as PPV is concerned. Maidana although a deserving opponent is not much of help in drawing PPV viewers.

I think a title defense fight versus Amir Khan or unification opposite Kell Brooks will give Showtime a huge boost next year, whether it is held in the US or the UK.

I don't think a Pacquiao fight will happen within Floyd's contract with Showtime. Pacquiao is also contracted with HBO being a Top Rank fighter. I don't think Showtime and HBO as well as Money Promotion and Top Rank will agree on an acceptable share of the fight income. Too many cooks will spoil the broth, as the saying goes. And will Arum ever agree to let Floyd be the cheif cook and vice versa? Too tall an order even for such an appetizing fight.
