Gamblers, In your opinion please define "shot taker"?
Please in your own opinion and without consulting the internet, please define the word "shot taker" as an adjective describing a player.
Example: John doe is a known "Shot Taker"
I am familiar with what i use the term for, but i see so many conflicting and completely different uses of the term, so i am confused as to what others usually see as the meaning.

Since you're asking "gamblers", I'd say a "shot taker" is one who takes a chance (a "shot") at a risky endeavor. Example: "John Doe goes to the race track whenever there is a big race happening because he's a shot taker."
I think you could also use it for any non-gambling risky venture. "John Doe has no hesitation on hitting on the women at the bar because he is a shot taker."
Of course you'll get a whole other set of meanings of "shot taker" if you ask a group of basketball players or photographers!
