They did know each other even if none of them were close friends. John Bonham, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones were a part of Paul McCartney's late 1970s supergroup Rockestra and Jones was a part of the band in Paul's movie :Give My Regards To Broad Street. George Harrison was given credit for Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song" because he mentioned to Jimmy Page that his group didn't do enough ballads.

Led Zeppelin we're really reserved, so it's hard to find anything on them apart from their music.
