Why is SGT TAHMOORESI still being held in prison in Mexico?

he tool a wrong turn at a very confusing stretch of highway in San Diego and got popped at the border of Mexico with US legal guns in his trunk.

    Because the guns may be legal in US but not in Mexico, so thats the law and none is above the law and he has not been able to prove his "good intentions"
