Enough to balance out all your other clothes so you won't have any clean stragglers come laundry day. I just bought 2 pairs for a buck at Dollar Tree today with that purpose in mind.

You can never have too many. They are always disappearing or getting worn out!

12 pair-1pair for work on each weekday and a 2nd pair to put on after showering after work to slide around in and 1 pair for saturday and 1 pair for sunday
