Question about red ear slider tank?
I've got a 20 gallon tank for hatchling red ear slider and I purchased a tetra whisper filter for up to 20 gallons should this keep the water clean? I'm not going to feed the turtle in there just wondering if you had any tips on how to keep the water clean as possible cause I can't be changing 20 gallons everyday. I have a zoo med dome light with the reptisun bulb and basking bulb. I have a floating dock and a heater.

Your setup should be fine. Gotta realize that your not filling the 20 gallons. So the pump will be big enough. When I had my slider I always had small feeder fish in it. Yes the turtle will try to eat them but I found it easier to just buy a few every other week and letting them keep the bottom clean. Just have some wood or something for them to be able to hide but not small enough to trap the turtle if it chases after them. My last turtle I had, I used a 60 gallon tank and glued in a piece of acrylic to separate a quarter of the tank for a dry area and had the rest for a swim area. Lots of room for other fish and different stuff in the tank.
