A girls opinion on this situation needed?

It's definitely possible that you embarrassed her a little. She probably didn't even realize she was making a weird face at you but her feeling showed through. Just be normal with her if you guys are friends act like nothing happened. There's no point in bringing it up again, that will just make her embarrassed again over the same stupid thing! Just show her you still think she's rad by being completely normal with her. An awesome friend like you were before because you obviously care about her feelings in you'really asking on here :) Goodluck

Most likely you just made her feel "odd" about the subject. Girls consider that flirting in most cases, unless she is use to being made fun of. Here is one thing I know: that funny look she gave you was just pretty much her "appreciation" for the joke. She liked it, but might've thought that she was the one being awkward. So in order to relieve the tension, she took her awkwardness to another area of the room. If she thought you were a creep she would've been whispering and constantly looking back at you with that ugly face a lot if gossipy girls get. You know the face, don't lie ;)! If it were to hurt her feelings, she would've looked upset. Possibly, it could've led to a very bad spot...

She might've gotten upset that someone actually saw her get ketchup on her face. I doubt your comment did anything to her self-esteem. I thought what you did was kinda sweet :). I bet she'll be fine.

She probably just think it was a joke. As for the whole direct eye contact it has been said a thousand times over that direct eye contact is a sort of flirting/crushing method/sign. But could have just been looking at you.
