Can I sell my mice to a pet store and exchange them for money?

I have 6 four week old baby mice and I need to sell them fast. I can't keep them since my mom won't allow me and there's too much. I tried to advertise the sale around public but it seems no one is interested. Can I bring them to a pet store like Petsmart and they can keep them instead? Is it possible?

No, pet stores only give you credit toward future purchases, never money.

Some pet stores buy their pets fro large commercial breeders, sort of like rabbit mills and mouse mills and bird mills and guinea pig mills and so on. They can buy them very cheaply this way. Other pet stores just breed their own mice and a few other pets, too.

If you don't mind just getting credit at the pet store, (call first and ask if they will take them), and your mice are especially pretty or unusual in some way, then they will probably take them.

No, Petsmart in particular will not take them nor give you money or in-store credit. It's against policy to take outside animals as they don't want any diseases coming into their habitats. Try a mom and pop store. Sometimes Petco will take them but I am not sure on if they give money or store credit.

Petsmart won't do it but Petco will take them for free and adopt them out to a good home if you provide a cage. If you can find a family owned pet shop they might buy them from you. You can take them to a shelter if nothing else.

How much of a windfall do you expect from 4 mice? How about you try to find them homes where they are not going to be food. It is the right thing to do

Pet stores would not take them. If you don't care if they become food, you can advertise them on craigslist for feeder mice for snakes.

They will only give you store credit, its a bad idea anyways because they will most likely end up being gassed because no one adopted them or be sold to snake owners as food. Try to give them as pets to family and friends first

The answer is YES!!!! That is what happened to hamsters and the pet stores offered to take them off our hands. I told them no because luckily we found them good homes!
