Question about Dead Space 1 on PS 3?

I finished Dead Space 1 on easy and had a lot of ammunition left for the next game. I want to play on medium with the ammunition carried over. Can I do that? If so how?

    No, sadly you can't. Dead Space 1 does have a new game feature, but it's locked to the difficulty you played on last.

    You'll have to start a new game if you want to play on Medium.
