i don't like church cause it is boring and the message is always to be happy. with the catholics it is like boring music like classical stuff and like receptive prayers stuff like that. where as protestants are like the happy go lucky type maybe a little alternative rock music about religion or whatever. either way it is boring. also i feel like the church folks want to be around people who have good lives and are living it the right way. if a person has a disability or is problematic there not always that attracted to problem people even if it is not your fault. they want to deal and associate with productive members of society. anyways i am mentally ill and i have problems going to church well for different reasons other then boredom. i have a severe farting condition that has effected my life and so i just avoid people as a result. well the music or talking usually covers it up. i do NOT poop or pee in my underwear. i never wore diapers since the age of like 6 or whatever onward. so anyways the main reason i don't go to church besides the irritable bowel syndrome problem i have is that well it is a longer story i don't want to get into. well severely mentally ill people maybe homeless so not thinking appropriately and not doing the right thing as a result. another example well if your depressed hearing someone talk happy all the time may not always brighten your mood. i know that therapy now a days is about positive psychology and cognitive behavioral solutions about like fixing your problems rather then talking about your past or how you feel the goal in your therapy is a resolution. now a days churches are very solution oriented and it is not one on one personal. if your having many issues church does not fix all your problem. no where in the bible does it say that all people that are christians will be happy. some people are happy some people are sad and it could be a result of a disease that a person feels this way or is a reality of what they are going through. now criminals could be sad being in prison and that might be a feeling they deserve. so feeling sad or happy is not always evidence your a good or bad person. people that are atheists maybe happy with their life you do not need religion in order to be happy. my mom drives me crazy telling me how the reason i am unhappy in my life is because i do not go to church or the holy spirit is not in me. which i totally disagree with. she is bubbly and even with all her life problems she still in a good mood or whatever but she also has low standards to life and does not really do much with her day or time or whatever. so anyways being happy is a choice but i think there is genetic factors also associated with it. now i know church does not put me in a good mood. i personally just go online and read articles on religion or just write in my diary my opinion on religion and my interpretation of the bible. i have not read the whole bible. there is very few chapters i have actually read because the bible is so boring and i don't have deep motivation to be a ideal christian or whatever. i am somewhat loose but i am also dumb. i only read what i am interested in. reading bible stuff does not always put me in a good mood. so anyways other examples i want to talk about is well i am not telling you what to do i am just telling you that i feel the same way. i have not gone to a church in over 5 years and i am planning to keep it that way for i have no clue how much more longer. but anyways i also well sometimes watch religious channels on tv or online but generally speaking it is not common of me. i do start to tithe money to like charities through christian missionary stuff so that is what i do. so these are just ideas for what you can do if you do not want to be a good christian like going to church like your supposed to. in catholic church it is deemed a mortal sin not to attend mass for a few times a year on the major holiday on their sabbath so i don't know what denomination you are but your officially a bad christian if your a catholic. anyways i am in the same boat as you so anyways i am not getting into that topic. i don't want to make you feel bad i don't know your life story. you could be lazy or living life the wrong way and too embarrassed to go to church. or you could be angry with religion for not fixing your problem so that is more my issue anyways why i am not going cause i don't get my instant miracle. i don't want to live my life in pain and that is all religion allows me to do. so i have my own definition or standard i allow religion in my own life at my own pace and time.
