Can a person in his/her early 20's be a managing director of a company?

Update:

Not of their own company... someone else's... they work for someone and were given the position of MD.

Update 2:

My 23 year old friend works for a boss who owns 2 companies. She is the MD in one of his companies..

Yes by simply founding their own company they are then the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) formally known as the "Managing Director" "Chairman of the Board" or just plain Boss.

Yes, if it's their company. I doubt they could make it to the top of a large company that fast if they didn't own it, or have other significant advantages.

Of course. Heck, I was founder and president at 25 (of my own company); we had $845,000 in revenue in the first year!

It has since tanked, and left me saddled with debt. But I digress.
