Do you need a bank account to use a visa gift card?

I know this is probably a stupid question but I can't find anything when I google it.

    nope as long as the gift card was given to you by someone else.

    if you were to buy the gift card then you would need your personal debit card details

    no you do not. The money is pre-loaded on it
