Spiders have 8 jointed walking legs. they have small appendages near the face called pedipalps often mistaken for a 5th pair of legs or fangs. Some arachnids have very long/large pedipalps making them look to have 10 legs, but any arachnid can loose a leg/palp (or more)

Spiders have 8 legs, some people miscounted it as 10 as they included the 2 pedipalps on the front of the spider's head in the counting.

The "9 legs" could be due to a missing pedipalp of the spider.
