The U.S. has been helping opposition groups in Syria for 3 years urged by John McCain working on behalf of Israel, with the goal of overthrowing Assad. That failed, many of the opposition groups the U.S. funded with small weapons, have gone over to join the IS groups and other anti-social criminal groups. They want to be on the winning side I guess.
I dont see what training the Turks need. They are vicious, aggressive fighters and already have a 500,000-man army. The U.S. has been training people in Jordan for years, and trained the Iraqi army for 10 years with no results. They should forget the training. Turkey is stalling about fighting IS, because their goal is to get Assad out and not to help the Kurds.

The West has been counting on the Kurds to spearhead the ground offensive against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. But with alliances in the Middle East shifting rapidly, how reliable of an ally are they? Will the Kurds prove to be the decisive factor in the U.S.-led coalition, or will they seek an accommodation with the Islamic State to suit their own interests? Oksana is joined by Fadi Hakura, manager of the Turkey Project at the London-based think tank Chatham House, to delve into these issues.'

"Why doesn’t Ankara worry more about the collapse of the peace process with the PKK that has maintained a ceasefire since 2013? It may believe that the PKK is too heavily involved in fighting Isis in Syria that it cannot go back to war with the government in Turkey. On the other hand, if Turkey does join the civil war in Syria against Assad, a crucial ally of Iran, then Iranian leaders have said that “Turkey will pay a price”. This probably means that Iran will covertly support an armed Kurdish insurgency in Turkey. Saddam Hussein made a somewhat similar mistake to Mr Erdogan when he invaded Iran in 1980, thus leading Iran to reignite the Kurdish rebellion that Baghdad had crushed through an agreement with the Shah in 1975. Turkish military intervention in Syria might not end the war there, but it may well spread the fighting to Turkey."

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2014/10/source-obam... shift essentially entails the US moving from a majority forward-operating military to a defensive stay-behind force. Part of this transformation is the reduction of the conventional military and its replacement with special forces and intelligence recruits. Private military companies (PMCs) are also occupying a higher role in the US’ grand strategy. Of course, it is not to say that the US no longer has the capability or will to forward advance – not at all.."

FIRST The term "terrorist" has a specific definition.... the USA does NOT train or condone terrorism..... we train "fighters"
SECOND Skin color is not a factor and being "white" would be a unnecessary handicap for a fighter in the Middle East..... your use of inaccurate and inflammatory words betrays your bias.
FINALLY While I dislike my countries penchant for interfering in the affairs of other nations in the case of ISIS....ISIS pulled us into this conflict....
HOW?
just one example.....An American....unarmed.....a NON-COMBATANT....a man helping the injured and suffering of people....ALL people..... was taken prisoner and held for several YEARS..... then when it suited them ISIS.....cut off his head on camera..... his crime?.... being white and American
you slaughter my innocent defenseless people and I can NOT ignore that..... and do not try to spin this....when the man was taken prisoner America was not directly involved in the conflict yet....there was not a single valid reason to kidnap and slaughter this good man.....nor the defenseless journalist.... ISIS are vicious cowards,,,, and true TERRORISTS
EDIT.... FLOWER IS A COWARD who hides behind a block because he does not have the FACTS to defend his "opinions" EXAMPLE How does he possibly know....KNOW....our motivation / relationship with Israel.... he assumes based on his / her bias
