I'm making something that involves a lot of characters from tall tales, folklore, mythology and fairy tales and don't want it to be a sausagefest.

You don't have to use someone who is already strong. You can just make someone based off of someone else
Unless you actually want to use the actual entity/person and use their real/historical name
You can look into greek, hindu, norse, egyptian, mesoamerican, arabian, and many other mythologies with gods/godesses
