I doubt the UN would TRY to (it can't actually) FORCE such a misguided strategy, that is guaranteed to make things worse, rather than better.

The UN can't enforce a ban on anything at all. It is not an organization with the teeth to enforce any bans.

What the UN excels at is talk, which is different from the sort of action that would be required to enforce the banning of anything. It's important that we understand this fundamental aspect of the UN. Talk is fine, and good, and banning is something else entirely.

The UN has no power to enforce a ban.

Whenever you hear a president say something, add "at this time." to the end of it.
