What kind of resistor do I need?

Update:

I have a one of these push button switches for my horn which burnt out after a couple days of use. I had 12.5v going in and it was suppose to be the same going out but it was only putting out 6 to 7v after two days. I wanna know what resistor I can hook up to the circuit to keep it from burning up. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Q84QO0/ref=ox...

A resistor will not solve your problem.

Do you know how much current the horn takes when activated? Do you know the current capacity (rating) of the switch.

I suspect the latter was grossly underrated.

It put out 12 to 12.5V when pressed. Switch Rating: 36V DC, 2A
