Fighting someone slightly bigger than you?

This person is slightly bigger than me in terms of strength, I'm slightly taller.

I've seen them fight before, they are very limited in there striking and as a result try to grapple. They are not fluent in the way they fight, they fight out of anger.

How do I avoid the grapple and how do I keep my feet against an opponent that has more strength.

I have very basic skills, and am proficient in basic kubotan skills.

Any evasive tips to avoid grapple. I'm faster on my feet and can use my anger to fight properly.

Before you say run, a fight is inevitable I've avoided it for months and it has only now blown over.

I am able to show self control even though I know they can't.

Any tips? Yes it is inevitable.

    Use your height to your advantage, if your reach is long enough, there's no reason for them to be close enough for a take-down.

    Use kicks to keep them at a distance, and if you find them moving in too much, you can easily use your most preferred kick to push them back (most people I've noticed and myself personally use a form of side-kick for this)

    Try to be efficient in your strikes, don't throw random things in hopes they land. That leaves you open and more off focused. Try to go for quick strikes, but use power behind it.

    If you do see yourself stuck in a take down, either get up as fast as possible, or try to go for the easiest leg lock, arm bar, or choke hold you can.

    Finally, remember to keep moving, and don't fight square (meaning turn to the side more, leaves less open)

    But as I always say, use violence as a last resort. Self-defense is different from assault, remember that too. Don't start a fight, but be the one to end it.
