There is not really a lot of difference. but most people tend to feel that foolish is when you know very well that what you are doing is unwise, but stupid is when you are not mentally very capable
Why not try looking it up in a dictionary - that is what dictionaries are for.

Foolish is when you should know better.
Stupid is when you don't know you're being foolish.
