Sadly, unless you're a embedded software engineer like myself, you won't be able to.
Televisions run off of embedded micro-controllers to manage their video processing, there's really nothing you can do unless you really know how to plug in a serial UART connection to a television set, read the stack and debug output and then from there, somehow, someway, develop a firmware that you could blow via JTAG onto a flash...
yeah...
not easy.
*IF* you had an older TV set, like those big tube-TVs, now those are fun (AND VERY DANGEROUS) to mod! DO SO *ONLY* AT YOUR OWN RISK! those TV's have over 6,000 volts of electricity, one touch with the flyback capacitor will flat-up kill you. No second chances.
