Skyrim dlc won't install (Xbox 360)?

Hi, so I've got a usb with the dlc on it and I've put it into my external hard drive where skyrim is installed and where I run skyrim from. Whenever I open skyrim it says 'Please wait downloadable content installing...' And my Xbox glitches out and I can't do anything, Ive left it like that for about 40 minutes and nothing happens. I'm only trying to install one of the dlc's at the moment (Dawngaurd). Please help becauseI really wanna play it

    Did you buy the DLC, if not then your problem just might be the Anti-Piracy security kicking in.

    Normally, consoles do not play games from external drives or flash drives. So, you may want to review your method of doing that as well.

    Just do one at a time... sounds like you have a crap Xbox or it's overheated from being on for really long and the Xbox is glitching
