Capitalism is a system entirely based upon the abuse, exploitation and further impoverishment of the poor. The big corporations shut down all the competition, hoard all the wealth, and trap their workers in badly paid dead-end jobs.

At school, they don't have the "trendy-ous" clothes on or they get picked on and bullied because they don't buy things or pay. Or even when the school asks for donations and someone doesn't give them anything because they don't have enough money. A student might find out and start teasing them about it .

Well, there is the pervasive stereotype (even among normally "enlightened" people) that "poor people are always poor because they want to be".
