recipe calls for cooking in a non-metal pot. what the heck is a pot not metal and where do i get one?

    Just ignore it and use the pot you have. The person who created the recipe was probably just writing down exactly what they did rather than what was necessary. Minor details like that aren't important.

    a ceramic pot, like porcelain, glass would apply to this too, weird recipe. I wouldn't bother following that instruction, sounds like something ceremonial instead of a necessity.

    Porcelain coated pot - normally the recipe says a non-reactive pot meaning stainless steel or teflon lined. (carbon steel, aluminum, cast iron are all reactive).
