The reason atheist and nonbelievers only quote the old testament....is?

    because the new testament was written around 275AD by unknown greeks so carries zero contemporary information and only hearsay , fabrications and myth so it defeats itself and isn't worth considering , it depends on a jewish myth in the old testament about a messiah so if the jews are NOT god's chosen people the new testament has no reason to exist , if they are god's chosen people then the only obvious course is to become jewish not christian
