How do you say "your father is dead" in Thai?
A Thailand foreign exchange student told me how to say it. It sounded like he said "Pom-die"

Pom means "I" (spoken by a male speaker), and "die" is actually "thigh" which means dead (adj in this case.)
To actually say "your father is dead" - from a Thai's point of view, it's almost like a curse, which is pretty rude. It would be equally strange if you are asking if "is your father dead?"
