Do you know of individuals who spend time talking to people they don't like?

Have you been in a situation where you are waiting or visiting someone while they spend time talking to someone they don't like?

I cannot understand why would a person waste one whole talking to someone when they have admitted that they don't like them. It seems like they are either lying to you or saving face.

I had to wait for someone because a friend would talk to an intruding neighbour about nothing important. She could have said politely that she had a visitor and end the conversation.

There is a difference in talking and communicating. I prefer to engage in a conversation with people that I like. I cannot be bothered wasting my time talking to people that I don't like at all. Why would I waste my time talking to someone who has bad manners and is rude?

Maybe it is because I am an introvert and not insecure.

I have relatives that I don't like but I still communicate with them but I won't waste my time engaging a conversation with them.
