CRICKETS:) - .?
My living area is in a finished basement and I expected to find crickets, but just killed one I had never seen before. It's body was similar to a normal cricket body, but it's LEGS were really long and I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't a spider. It was also more of a dark brown rather than black. Can't show a photo because I smashed it with my shoe. Anybody have any idea what kind of cricket it might be.

Sounds like a camel cricket. (cave cricket) and totally harmless. Some people call them spider crickets for their long legs.(sprickets):
