Why do people buy Pokemon booster boxes/packs instead of full sets?
Hello.
I want to start collecting some of the older Pokémon cards, probably the first 2-3 generations. I have been looking around at prices and noticed full sets are being sold for 1/3-1/2 the price of a booster box.
Why are the sets cheaper than the boxes themselves? I understand the boxes are no longer in print, but surely if you were collecting the cards you would buy a set rather than a box??

Boxes are awesome! I get really happy when I pull something rather than buying the individual card. As Forest Gump's mom always said, "You never know what you're gonna get!"
