Lucid dream help?
So I tried to have a lucid dream, I layed in my bed with my eyes close face up and arms by my side, and I did that for about 40 minutes, in my head I just kept counting so I could stay awake and the entire Time I did, cause I heard noise in the background and felt the urge to itch and wiggle my toes, but after 40 minutes of staying awake with my eyes closed perfectly still, my body still did not fall asleep, anything I could be doing wrong??

Lucid Dreams, Astral Projection, and OBEs are altered states of consciousness that can be achieved by giving your subconscious mind the correct suggestions. Your subconscious mind is most receptive to receive any suggestion just before you go to sleep. Repeating affirmations and relaxation is the key. There is nothing like one universal method that works for everyone. You have to do a little bit of research and experimentation with different methods to find the best method that works for you.
