2 updates behind. Will I damage my iPhone if I update now?
I have an iPhone 5c. I was not able to upgrade to ios8 a few months ago because of memory issues, and I need to update to ios 8.1 now...I finally deleted a huge chunk of files and can now update.
The question I have is if I update now, will it damage my device because I am 2 updates behind...Thanks

that should be no problems, all updates slow down phones no matter what, but saying that the 5c is one of the newer models it wont effect it what so ever. the only way it would effect it is if you went from ios6 straight to ios8.1

No you can update anytime regardless of that. Connect to itunes when you do it and you dont need to worry about extra space.

I have never heard of damaging your phone from an update...

No, but it is preferred before updating to sync to iTunes and backup the device. (in case).
