Here's a qustion about alternate reality: Does a ball of wax grow smaller or larger if?
it melts? Or is it the sighted observer who expands or shrinks? But, what if one could only hold it in hand, but not see it--what then, that altrernate reality?

I can appreciate the humor, especially Kahuma's play on an old familiar saying, but since johanna's points in the right directions whether he realize it or not, the almost Best has to go there. If there was any answer, it must have to do with "altered realities as I see it. If a ball melts, could not its new reality be two and not three dimensional? And if a sphere melts to a plane that spreads would a two dimensional entity not think of a sphere (it might not know "circle" because all that "we" know is that the word, ball, has been introduced into its reality) as being larger as it grew that the smaller, ball cross section that had been part of its reality before alteration.
But now, would the 2D ball be bigger that any one (but not two) of us? Well, that question seems to imply that whereas the ball melted, any one or all of us would remain un-melted, so therefore not grow in size, such that the two dimensional being could, indeed/ perceive any one of use as growing smaller in comparison. Of course, that only goes to show that johanna v is already in an altered reality of some sort.

The real reality is that if it melts, well, there goes the whole ball of wax.
