If the Matrix hypothesis is real, would I be living in the Matrix by myself, or is EVERYONE part of the same Matrix?

Update:

I think the whole Matrix thing is scary, and I don't want to believe it, but it might be true. However, in the movie, EVERYONE is part of the same Matrix, which really makes the whole thing less scarier, rather than believing ONLY ME is part of the Matrix. Which one makes more sense?

    The Matrix hypothesis is based on the Rene DeCarte hypothesis what if everything you think is a lie. Then, what do you know for certain?
