Why did Nikola Tesla become a internet hero all a sudden? Does he deserve it?

He became an internet hero because the internet is a way for people to learn, and those who are awesome will always be acknowledged. Eventually all the information humans have ever known or discovered will be thrown into the mix and the best stuff will always come to the surface. And yes he deserves it. The truth will always float above a sea of B.S. and He's skimming the surface. I think eventually people will be so enthralled with him that humans will eventually go on a real life search for his lost papers and put those on the internet to so we may all live better, more Eco-friendly lives, but only when this whole war thing is done, can't give an atom bomb to a baby you know. Might hurt himself.

Tesla's popularity isn't as sudden as you may think. I've seen and heard things about him for decades. Maybe you or people you know just noticed things that have been there for a while.

Tesla is actually an amazing character. He was a visionary and invented many things.

He actually appears to many as more of a counter-culture icon because he was always overshadowed by his competitor, Edison. Part of that was because Tesla was dedicated to working ideas that he couldn't accomplish, like his "death ray."

Nicola Tesla was a unique kind of Genius, not the ordinary kind. Since no one understands completely, what he accomplished He is an oddity and therefore internet worthy. He deserves it, just as murderers deserve the chair.

Internet and computer technology were not invent in the old old time that Nikola lived. He has no credit on this subject.

I can't address the internet hero question but I do know that if he only did one thing, namely promoting polyphase alternating current, then he would have made one the greatest contributions of his generation.

Because he was a scientific genius. He invented multiphase AC generations and motors - the basis of the power industry.

Yes he deserves it. He invented electricity at it's finest.
