Why is RELIGION a hot topic even in this 21st Century?

I believe it is because we are in the information age and more people have access to more information than ever before in history. This means that religions are in the final death throes and can see that they are not going to be able to withstand the fact that everyone will be able to find people that are willing to speak out against the churches and open peoples eyes to reality. When people realize the beliefs they have held for their entire life are fake it is a hard pill to swallow. Some will spend the rest of their lives refusing to accept that they were fooled because they are too afraid to lose that safety net. Anyone that is honest will admit that they don't really know what will happen after they die but the theist will hold onto these lies to make themselves feel better and less scared about it.

After years of conditioning it is easy to understand why they are not willing to even think about challenging the beliefs they have been programmed to accept but the next generation of theists will not be limited to only getting information from the church or their parents.
