Religion is a Mechanism of Social Control, Spirituality is a Search for God & Very few People get this. Do you agree?

I agree about religion. Especially when you look at history since for much of humanity for most of history religion and government were one and the same.

Spirituality is a way to understand the universe and humans place in it. It has proven ineffective at understanding the universe. Scientific materialism has been much more effective for understanding the nature of the universe. A lot of "spiritual" people don't like that since it turns out we are just "a speck on a speck on a speck on a speck" when compared with the vastness and age of the universe. Their ego won't let them accept that reality of humans place in the universe so they persist in beliefs that have no connection to physical reality..

Baptism removes original sin (Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit) and other sins.

Confession and drinking blood of Jesus remove sins.

666 is not forgivable; it's leads to permanent hell.

No. I agree with the definition of religion, since there are so many religions out there and so many beliefs.

However spirituality is a way of being happy and enjoying life.

Well depends. Not everyone is spiritual in the same way.

I sort of agree -- Religion is an OBSOLETE method of social control and Spirituality is an OBSOLETE attempt to understand the universe and the place of humanity within it. I'm glad to live in a time where fewer and fewer people are putting their faith in obsolete systems that obviously do not help us to manage our lives any more.

There are too many people getting lost in the mechanics of it and not keeping it simple. Just follow Gods will and don't worry of man made labels and methods. Give unto God what is Gods and let man label whatever he wishes however he wishes.
