Christmas is a secular holiday to many people. A lot of atheists celebrate it as a secular holiday. Easter is a bit different. It is still a pretty religious holiday so I do not see many atheists celebrating it.

Christmas is rooted in Winter Solstice celebrations... and Easter is rooted in Spring fertility celebrations. So basically Christians started celebrating these Pagan holidays hundreds of years ago for the same reason atheists celebrate now-- it's tradition.

These times of year have been celebrated long before Christians adopted them... and will go on long after Christianity is gone.

Basically, celebrating something around these times are just ancient traditions. And people enjoy traditions and parties.

As an atheist in a Christian family I celebrate Christmas because it is a time when family comes together from various states and from Europe, we drink and celebrate the birthday of Mithras. Easter is just stupid.

As a Christian, I would never celebrate Easter or Christmas. That would be against my religion.

As a Christians the tree used in Christmas is wrong ! As been told in Jeremiah 10. The whole idea of Christmas is blasphemy and paganism. And what concerns easter: I do not celebrate the fact that Jesus died but I do celebrate the fact that He rose. There is no need to celebrate that on the weekend of easter you can do that and thank Him every single day
