Is it fair that I got in trouble for giving my own food away to a homeless person?

Question

I work at a fast food chicken place and the owner also owns a pizza restaurant. He asked me to deliver some chicken wings to the pizza restaraunt for him because they ran out and he said I could have a free pizza for making the trip. When I got there this homeless man asked me for money and I said I didn't have any. He then asked me if I had any food and a said no. Well I went in with the wings and came out with a hot fresh large pepperoni pizza and I see the same man digging through the dumpster of the pizza place. Theres no way I was going to leave that man digging through old nasty food. I mean what's the point in living if you can't even help someone who's going through hard times. I've been through them, and I'm sure everyone else has to.  So I ended up giving him my pizza and I guess the manager seen me or seen the guy with the pizza and I was told that if I gave product away again I would be written up. This was my personal pizza I earned for doing the boss a favor if I want to give it to a person in need whats the problem?

If you explained to your manager that you earned the pizza yourself then I'm sure he'd be cool with it, right? If not then screw him .-. I'd quit that job and buy pizza for the homeless dude every day xD but hey you probably need your job :S so yeah, don't do what I would do...you probably wouldn't have anyways.
There is absolutely no problem with you using the pizza you earned and owned to somebody else...I mean, put it this way:
If I order a pizza can I share it with my friends? According to your manager no because I'm "giving away the product".
But hey all that stuff aside, you heard the fricker say it was your pizza anyway so all legal stuff involved heck he has no right to tell you what to do.
So no, it's not fair in any way that you got in trouble for giving your food to a homeless person.

No. One can do with their food what ever they please. If you want to give it away, then go for it! At the end of the day, it's not getting wasted.

You should be able to give your food to whomever you want. Though there may be circumstances where it's not advisable, this is not one of them.
