Will the results in Miami embarrass NASCAR?

Four drivers competing for the title. Thirty-nine drivers as spoilers. In their attempt to mimic other sports, NASCAR forgot that other sports don't have eliminated teams on the field for the title game. The champion will be the driver (among the four who finishes highest), but what if the "champion" finishes 20th? What if, due to a wreck or mechanical issues, the champion isn't even on the lead lap?

I have no idea what prompted NASCAR to come up with this "formula". It is completely without merit to eliminate drivers so easily at the start of these segments.

I have watch and attended NASCAR and it is sad for me to note I will no longer support any NASCAR event after tomorrow's "championship".

NASCAR has always been a sport for WINNERS, then came several years of what's the rule this week ?

After stopping emotions at racetracks they couldn't get the spirit back so they went far afield

Of my personal favorites four were out of contention at the second tier two more fell on the third, four races left and there was no chance of any winners on my list even with a combined I believe 9 races won

Now you have rookies and a non winner in the so called chase. Along with multiple fist fights and very little sportsmanship.

I don't know what they pay the announcers to crow about how wonderful the format is but I know a dozen or so deceased Champions who are spinning their graves.

That would not be something new. Prior to the Chase format a driver had clinched the title even brfore the last race of the season. The goal was to create a race within a race. What they should be concerned about more is having a driver with zero wins and only 4 top 5s winning the championship (Newman).

You can always imagine a doosday scenario. It didn't happen. Chase racers finished 1-2-3.
