Wrist piercing, interchangeable barbells?

I'm getting wrist peircings soon, a barbell on the side of my wrist below my wrist bone, now some one told me that once it's healed you can actually change out bells, bars and all and I'm not sure that's true I don't think it is, I mean that's pretty cool if you can but it's not like an ear ring is it? Can you actually take your jewlery out and put different stuff ?

If you haven't already I'd discuss this placement with your piercer. Wrists are high movement areas and that makes piercings prone to rejection! When you say barbell I think of a surface piercing, but I can't really see a surface piercing on a wrist haha so sorry if I am wrong! If it is a barbell you can change out the ends and the whole bar! However, I'm thinking you may be getting a dermal, which is essentially a piercer of jewelry that heals into your skin. These ones you can't change the bar itself because that's anchored under your skin, but you can change the tops on these! :D
