How will the pupils inside your eyes react to a direct flash of light??

When in some cases when peopleis unconscious or what, someone would usually shine a flashlight into the eyes to see the reaction of the pupils , how will the pupils react to light?

..they will contract the pupils, and when the person is unconscious this might not happen at all. So flashing in and out they can see if the reaction of the eyes, and so the brain, is working or not. This is an indication that the person is still alive, so contract and dilate always when the light is in and off the eye..

The pupils constrict when bright light is shone into the eye. When the light is taken away the pupils dilate in response.
