Why is my font size in Photoshop CS6 so big even at a small font size number?

Any image size, the fonts would appear way too big, forcing me to go down to 4 pt to look normal. It's happening in CS6. Help?

Font sizes in Photoshop are affected by the image resolution value (pixels/inch). Points are 1/72 of an inch. If 10 pt fonts look large onscreen, your resolution may simply be high. At 300 ppi, 10 points measure about 42 pixels. At 1200 ppi, 10 points is about 170 pixels high.

You can enter font heights in other real world units, or in pixels (e.g. 16 px), and Photoshop will adjust accordingly. You can also use decimal measurements.

The dimensions (width/height) and zoom level do not matter, although you should judge your work at 100% zoom if it is primarily being viewed online.

Can you give more detail. (Usually that happens if you are dealing with small dimensionless and if your DPI is set very low). We can't help if you don't provide more detail.
