Does anyone on Y-A really like their new format ? I think it sucks. I keep going to it and don't find any new questions.?

I have used the newest format for a while now and I do like it. Once you adjust to it and find out how it works, it is user friendly.

If you are seeing questions that are older and have a lot of answers you may be looking at questions under the "Discover" tab. To see more current questions, at the top of the question stream, make sure that you have clicked onto the word "Answer" where more current questions will be listed.

  • I don't mind it to be honest. I never really minded it when I first started using it. Yes there was a lot wrong with it..... but in fairness Yahoo have also changed a load and have solved some of the bugs (granted new ones have popped up also!)

The issue I think you are having is that on a category page or the Y!A homepage then it defaults to "Discover" where you see an eclectic mix of questions which 'may' appeal to you.

You need to change to "Answer" and it will show you the newest questions of that category which is what you want.

So it's not so much about the layout but about the fact that Yahoo have not effectively communicated how to use the site.

There are far too many frequently recurring glitches in the present system.

Y!A is still very popular but nowhere near as popular as it used to be with the old green format.

The present purple format is much slower than the old green format.

The new purple format seems to have far more frequently recurring glitches than the old green format.

Posting problems and other glitches such as jamming up keep on recurring far too often.

If you can't jump start the system sometimes after a while you get a computer message saying "Close the program" and when you click on that message it seems to break the deadlock.

If nothing will jump start the jammed up system you have to reboot the system and that means logging out and then logging back in.

If you want to post a complaint on the new Suggestion Board in https://yahoo.uservoice.com/forums/211240-us-answe... it will be seen by Yahoo! staff as they peruse and scrutinise the Suggestion Board.

I like the in-line answering format, at least.

Some of the other structural (vice formatting) changes are more frustrating to me.

There are many new Qs,you just haven't clicked on Answers, you must be on discover.Look above the Qs to check.

I do, along with the majority of users to the site. If you aren't seeing new questions, perhaps you have set your page to "Discover" in which case you should click on "Answer" instead.

Try selecting Answer at the top of the list instead of Discover - then you will see the most recent questions rather than the ones they have picked as most interesting.

I love the new format. If you are on the "Discover" tab, that is popular and network questions in no order. Note "Discover" is underlined. Click on "Answer", that is sorted newest first.
